The Journey
at the INN

The approach at The Samaritan Inn is centered on empowering our residents to regain their independence. From the moment they arrive, we provide not just shelter, but also a structured program designed to build the essential life skills needed for long-term success. Residents sign a contract and commit to following a set of rules that ensure their active participation in the program.

Our Four Pillars

The journey begins with the four pillars of our program: case management, counseling, career development, and financial literacy. These pillars are the foundation of our approach, offering residents tailored guidance, emotional support, career planning, and financial education. Through this comprehensive support, we aim to equip each resident with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive.

  1. Case Management

Assign each resident an on-staff Case Manager to guide them on their journey

  2. Counseling

On-site mental health counseling provided at no cost to residents

  3. Career Development

On-site development for job readiness, interviewing 101, and resume assistance

  4. Financial Literacy

Attend finance classes, budget lab and 1:1 finance mentoring

DAILY LIFE
AT THE INN

Residents at The Samaritan Inn engage in a structured program designed to foster self-sufficiency. Their daily routine includes:

Daily Responsibilities: Just like in any home, residents contribute to the daily chores. This builds a sense of community and personal and collective responsibility.

Educational Programs: Courses in financial literacy, job skills, and GED preparation are provided.

Workforce Development: Residents participate in job training programs, including a core curriculum of group classes, personal assessments, one-on-one coaching sessions, and the opportunity to obtain a GED and nationally recognized job readiness.

Counseling and Support: Access to mental health services, substance abuse counseling, and personal development workshops.

GATEWAY
APARTMENT
PROGRAM

As residents progress, they engage in various educational opportunities and skill-building activities designed to prepare them for a stable and self-sufficient life. The program culminates in a graduation, after which we introduce them to the Gateway apartments. This next step offers a transitional living space where they can continue their journey toward full independence, with ongoing support from our team.

Transitional Housing: Affordable apartments for those who need continued support as they adjust to independent living.

Ongoing Support: Continued access to counseling, job support, and community resources.

Empowerment: Residents receive a fully furnished apartment with all the essentials needed to make it their home. Upon graduation from the program, they are able maintain all items to utilize in their next phase of life.
